Health systems have been shocked in a way that has never been seen before with the COVID-19 pandemic. This led to a surge of virtual care usage as consumers and providers sought new ways to access and deliver health care safely, which has demonstrated that the level of convenience and efficiency achieved in other industries is possible in healthcare.  

By combining new digital tools, interoperability, and data-sharing, consumers have access to more tailored and personalized virtual care experiences. Considering all this progress in virtual care and health systems still lagging behind, how can these new solutions help health systems bounce back after Covid? Join this session to discuss:  

  • Virtual care proved to be very useful for health systems during the pandemic, but are these solutions here to stay? What are the barriers standing in the way of virtual care use in health systems?   
  • How can health systems rely on virtual care to recover after the pandemic? How can they benefit from incorporating more virtual care programs (e.g. more capacity, less unnecessary visits, more efficiency, better patient care, less costs, etc.)?  
  • In order to embed virtual care into physicians' and care teams' day-to-day activities, how should we educate and train them? 
  • How can health systems use virtual care to ensure any patient in any location can access care equally? What actions are needed to make virtual care accessible and sustainable?  
  • Can collaborations with other organizations, such as pharma and MedTech, offset upfront costs for health systems to incorporate virtual care programs?  
  • Beyond helping bounce back after Covid, what are the long-term opportunities virtual care can provide to health systems?
