Masterclass: Reimbursement of DTx in Australia

There are many DTx companies who are at the forefront of shifting care into the hands of empowered patients, reducing the healthcare system cost. However, the question remains: who pays for DTx? A recent survey from ANDHealth to Australian Digital Health companies showed that the current reimbursement policies create substantial barriers to companies’ success. Only 10% of those companies selected the government as primary payers while 50% identified health providers and patients as primary payers. Many target the consumer first before navigating the reimbursement landscape, even though patient-pay models have rarely been successful.
