Pain management and treatment disparities in the US, especially among Black and Brown populations, continue to persist. Technological innovation, including immersive therapeutics like VR, has the potential to make inroads to solve some of these problems, but without historical context on non-majority patients? experience with the healthcare system, new advancements will miss the mark. Creating more equitable treatment for non-majority communities with respect to pain can be a reality.
