Equity by Design

Certain healthcare policies and processes are starting to show their age. One demanding immediate attention is HIPAA, which, in its current state, struggles to adapt to the complexities of a digital world. Equally outdated is the CPT code process, which has endured for over six decades, yikes. And it doesn’t stop there. Star ratings, meaningful use, risk adjustments and prior authorizations, to name a few, are also due for a refresh to promote innovation and eliminate regulatory gatekeeping. Designing new policies and processes that embrace technology and adapt to a changing landscape of care delivery and payment models would mark a transformative shift. Let’s champion a healthcare system that is agile, equitable, and isn’t afraid of a little change!
