
The World Health Organization estimates that by 2030 there will be a shortfall of 10 million health providers globally, perpetuating health inequities and limiting access to life-saving care. We must make ambitious and sustained investments in the health workforce, strengthening clinical education, training and improving policies that support health workers, and facilitating access to quality care to meet this growing challenge. Panelists will discuss the mechanics, challenges, and importance of public-private partnerships to strengthen professional health workforces and address critical shortages, so that they are ready and available to meet the health threats of today and strengthen resilient health systems into the future.
