Public-Private Investment Driving Healthcare Forward

About this Session:

The Duke-Margolis Capital Impact Council, composed of experienced venture capitalists and private equity investors, has developed a Health Value Return on Investment Framework designed to solve for investment accountability by aligning investor incentives with actual health improvements. This is a systematic approach to measuring whether private capital investments actually deliver on their promises to improve healthcare outcomes, increase access, and enhance affordability alongside financial returns. The Framework provides practical tools, metrics, and analyses that could fundamentally change how investors evaluate opportunities and how healthcare organizations assess potential partners, moving beyond marketing promises to quantifiable health impact. Through examples that demonstrate both successful and problematic investments, the initiative aims to strengthen routine use of effective health value assessments that can guide more informed decision-making and create accountability mechanisms for private sector engagement in healthcare. When private investment is a good guy not a bad guy. What does it look like? Hear from investors, LPs and entrepreneurs who are working on just that.
