MultiCare is leading the nation’s largest head-to-head trial of ambient documentation technologies across its health system. The study involves 600 clinicians across more than 20 specialties, deployed in outpatient clinics, EDs, and inpatient settings statewide. Current results highlight clear differences in: clinician preference, adoption and utilization across primary care and specialty practices, documentation efficiency via Signal metrics, and measurable impacts on RVUs, billing levels, and coding compliance. This large-scale evaluation offers one of the first system-wide perspectives on how competing ambient solutions compare in real-world clinical settings—and what this means for efficiency, compliance, and financial outcomes.
