About this Session:

The US spent $4.1 trillion on healthcare in 2020-over $12,500 for every man, woman and child accounting for nearly 20% of all national spending. Driven by aging demographics, a host of comorbidities, increasing staff costs, investments in research and development, over-utilization, and growing consumer expectations, this unsustainable trajectory is forecasted to hit $6.2 trillion by 2028. Less than 5% of our population accounts for 50% of the spending. Surely, we can intercede in these patients’ care. Technology holds the promise of bending the cost curve. Interoperability, data, and systems are maturing, putting providers, payers, and drug manufacturers in the unique position of collaboration to identify and target high-need, high-cost patients for interventions. Join this panel of stakeholders as they discuss and evaluate the various points-of-view, reveal opportunities, and explain the challenges of managing healthcare’s high-cost patient populations.
