While many early digital health companies focused on providing very targeted, or, some might say, limited solutions to digital patient engagement, a new generation of digital health companies are tackling the management of complex chronic medical and behavioral conditions. In addition, some of these digital companies are taking things a step further and partnering with health plans and risk-bearing providers in contracts that hold them accountable for cost and quality outcomes.
