As far back as the 1970s, evidence-based medicine promised to shift the medical paradigm. Randomized trials and therapeutic data would allow providers to identify what clinically worked in healthcare. The result? Doctors now have innumerable options, making the study of all clinical pathways and all subgroups unwieldy for clinical trials.
