Did TeleTherapy Help? Check Yes or No

About this Session:

Today, nearly 53 million US. adults have a mental health condition with the highest rate - 30.6% - among those ages 18-25. Intersect mental health prevalence with the fact that 80% of physicians report using telehealth technology, 36% of which is for mental health and substance use disorder treatment, and it will be hard to put the teletherapy genie back in the bottle. But it?s not all good news. The US public health emergency officially ends as of May 11, 2023; and, PHE regulatory rollback resulted in some recent bad press spotlighting the need for controls and standards in the area of teletherapy. Over 25 states have taken significant steps towards standardizing telehealth licensure requirements. Is it time for a quality check and national standards to assure clinical governance, safety, privacy, and provider support particularly in the treatment of mental health? This session looks at virtual mental health going forward and will offer consumer and provider insights on uses to increase value and outcomes.
