Specialty care ?deserts? are a key factor driving the growing challenge of health inequity: 1/3 of Americans live in a county that does not offer adequate access to necessary healthcare, including specialists. As demand for home care reaches a tipping point, virtual care can connect specialists and patients, regardless of their locations or the complexity of their conditions, to alleviate these deserts. In this presentation, Dr. Rasmussen, Chief Clinical Officer, The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic, and Professor of Neurosurgery at Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine will share how technology is expanding access to specialized medical expertise, bringing us one step closer to solving for health inequity, reducing costs, and improving care quality and convenience for patients across the country.
