The affordability of health care represents one of the most pervasive challenges of our time. Costs are growing at unsustainable rates, due in part to rising prescription prices. Today, on average, Americans pay prescription drug prices that are 190% higher than what consumers pay in other high-income countries. Ensuring access to safe, effective medicines at a price people can afford will take a collaborative effort across the health industry. From bringing generics and biosimilars to patients more quickly, leveraging innovative business models to lower cost while increasing access, and engaging with policymakers on impactful legislation ? collective action can translate to meaningful change.
