Where is the Unbiased Data?

About this Session:

Twenty-first century healthcare is being shaped with data. Analytics are the modernization springboard for everything from clinical trials, decision-making, epidemiology, public health, operations and administration, medical education, training, and list goes on. But datasets, even common ones used every day, can be inherently biased with discrepancies in patient representation that can lead to invalid conclusions. Overlay artificial intelligence and machine learning tools, data ?truths? can quickly skew via over- and under-represented groups of patients, conditions, lines-of-business, or healthcare contexts. ViVE has assembled a panel of experts to ask the hard questions about data bias and the stakeholder awareness needed to ensure data-driven decisions are fair, accurate, and trustworthy.
