Whether interacting face-to-face or virtually, nurses serve at the breach between patients and the healthcare system and are an essential source of connection to health-related resources inside the system and within patient communities. Through nurses? observations, decisions and referrals in the course of care delivery, they may also be in the best position to secure patient trust?a foundation for effective care that deserves special consideration among marginalized and underserved people. In this session, speakers will share research and practical findings to better engage nurses toward the goal of health equity through approaches to training, collaboration across disciplines, culture setting and a commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
