Behavioral health is finally getting a seat at the table. Standard physical care settings are adopting behavioral health screenings and treatment as the new norm. This noticeable shift is moving the industry towards a more holistic, whole health approach that aims to address the challenges posed by the current fragmented care delivery system. The US Preventative Health Taskforce is asking all physicians to screen patients for anxiety and depression during routine visits, but in reality most docs are not trained to do so. In an already strained environment for physicians, they are likely hesitant to add an additional step onto their already demanding priority list. Through care model ingenuity, health leaders have made behavioral health foundational to all care without adding more stress to our clinicians. Let?s create a future where healthcare is not merely a reaction to illness, but a proactive and integrated approach that nurtures both physical and behavioral well-being, ultimately fostering a healthier and more resilient society.
