Standing Up for Women’s Health

About this Session:

The state of women's health in a post-Roe era has been marked by clinic closures, uncertainties in access, and further abortion restrictions. With a focus on addressing maternal health deserts and amping up the research into women-specific health issues, new models such as membership clinics, virtual care and the increasing role of doulas and midwives are proving that health innovators will not sit back and accept the status quo. Despite the urgent need, establishing more modern women's health models in states with opposing ideals will be a continued challenge for founders in a politically charged 2024. Noteworthy initiatives, such as the White House's commitment to addressing the underfunding of women's health research, give us hope for the future, but the alarming statistics, including the closure of over 200 rural hospitals delivering nearly 1 in 10 babies in the U.S, underscore the urgency of finding sustainable solutions for underserved women. To life, liberty and the pursuit of equitable and accessible women's healthcare.
