Raising the Bar for FHIR Interoperability Testing

About this Session:

"James Threatte, Director, ONC Cert & ePA Interoperability at Drummond, and Michelle Beck, Senior Vice President of Growth at Firely, will share insights from the latest multi-party FHIR interoperability testing, which included testing for electronic prior authorization Coverage Requirements Discovery. They will outline key issues identified across Health IT, provider, and payer systems and explain how participants used FHIRplace to strengthen quality assurance and improve implementation readiness. They will walk through practical observations from the test event to show how collaborative testing helped organizations address interoperability and conformance challenges. The discussion will highlight what worked well, where teams needed more focus, and how these findings can be applied to real-world FHIR implementations. James will also share results from the recent market study on FHIR interoperability testing, including what organizations say they need most as adoption expands. Attendees will gain a grounded view of current testing needs, emerging trends, and the approaches that are improving FHIR implementation outcomes."
