The Agenda

Every week, HealthXL communities connect to break down some of the major challenges and opportunities in digital health. If you are interested in joining any of these meetings, just click through the link to request access.

However, even if you can't make a meeting, keep an eye out for the key takeaways, which will be published later this week.

The combination of Digital Therapeutics (DTx) and drug is becoming one of the easiest ways for DTx companies to commercialize their products through pharma, as they are still wary of incorporating standalone DTx in their portfolios and building companion DTx from the early days of a drug. Led by Myles Furnace of Closed Loop Medicine, on Monday, 9 May, we will examine how DTx-drug combinations that act as enhancers of the pharmacotherapy and the evidence needed to get the industry buy-in.

On Tuesday, 10 May, Eugene and Marina Borukhovich, of YourCoach.Health,  will hold a webinar that aims to demystify health coaching in digital health offerings. As health and wellness coaching becomes a complement to existing therapies to help improve outcomes in disease management and disease reversal, alongside prevention and performance management, this meeting will look at the potential opportunity for the digital health industry to leverage coaching.

DTx companies often struggle with proving efficacy and safety. This is a particular issue for early-stage companies with limited resources. Often, DTx companies are asked to follow the same standards as traditional drugs, something that is difficult to achieve with an evolving product. On Wednesday, May 11, we will discuss the most efficient ways for DTx companies to generate evidence.

For anyone looking for insights into the way investors interact with DTx, Will Gibbs, of  Octopus Ventures, will lead a discussion on Thursday, May 12, to discuss the do’s and don’ts when approaching investors with DTx. With more than 4,000 growth equity funds in the market globally, DTx companies have a lot of people to pitch to. Who you should bring into a business, however, is a key consideration.
