The Agenda - coming up this week at HealthXL

Every week, HealthXL communities connect to break down some of the major challenges and opportunities in digital health. If you are interested in joining any of these meetings, just click through the link to request access. However, even if you can't make a meeting, keep an eye out for the key takeaways, which will be published later this week.

What are the do’s and don’ts when approaching employers for DTx reimbursement? We have seen a significant number of employers starting to incorporate DTx products into their benefits plans, such as Pear Therapeutics reSET and Freespira. On Tuesday, May 17, Jo Masterson, chief executive of 2Morrow, will lead us in a discussion to look at why this is a good route to market for DTx companies and how to build meaningful and sustainable partnerships with employers.

On Wednesday, May 18, we will hold our first of two sprint sessions on Virtual Care for Cardiovascular Diseases: Payment Models & Adoption. While virtual care for Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) has shown promising outcomes, choosing the right payment model and driving adoption remain major challenges. To maximize the potential for adoption at scale, the right payment models are vital. We will examine the different approaches; from prioritizing employers or direct-to-consumer (D2C) models first to partnering with pharma or seeking payers.

Even though generating meaningful evidence is critical, it isn’t everything, and in this meeting we will look at the best route to market, getting paid for the product, and defining the right pricing model is key to building a sustainable business model in the long term.

Regulation is essential for companies who want to get their Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) accepted into clinical and payer groups. What are the do’s and don’ts when attempting to take your SaMD through regulatory pathways in the US? On Thursday, we will hold a US-focused Masterclass led by Jason Brooke, medical device attorney, and regulatory/quality advisor, to walk through it all.
