Emagine Solutions Technology, an award-winning healthcare technology company, has announced the addition of AI-supported wellness features to its app, The Journey Pregnancy. These new data-driven tools help users understand their risk for preeclampsia, encouraging them to contact their clinician if they notice any concerning changes in their health.
Preeclampsia, a dangerous high blood pressure disorder, affects more than 11 million women globally each year and accounts for one in seven hospital births in the United States. The condition imposes a major financial strain on healthcare systems, costing the U.S. over $2 billion annually. Monitoring blood pressure between prenatal visits remains a challenge, especially postpartum and for women in rural areas or maternity care deserts. “There is an urgent need for scalable, community-driven, and technology-enabled solutions that can facilitate real-time patient self-monitoring and timely intervention,” said Courtney Williams, Co-founder and CEO of Emagine Solutions Technology.
To address this gap, The Journey Pregnancy app now enables patients to log pregnancy symptoms and blood pressure readings through its in-app vitals scanning technology. The AI-driven features provide a preeclampsia assessment that alerts at-risk women to consult a medical professional. Users also have access to Aria, the app’s virtual doula, which offers 24/7 pregnancy support and evidence-based guidance on preeclampsia, wellness, nutrition, and postpartum care. Additionally, a medication-logging feature helps patients and clinicians track prescribed treatments.
The Journey Pregnancy app is available for free on Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
