Alfie Health, a virtual clinic for patients with obesity, has received $2.1 million in funding led by Y Combinator and Nina Capital.
The clinic's holistic approach has resulted in a 10-15% average weight loss for a group of 300 patients over nine months. Their AI platform analyses patient data to provide personalised treatment recommendations, including medication and behavioural changes, and offers ongoing telehealth support.
Developed with input from specialists, the proprietary ObesityRx system conducts a metabolic profile of patients to understand the root causes of weight gain. The clinic collaborates with healthcare providers, including a cardiology group, and is covered by major health insurance providers in select states.
The program aims to bring clinical-grade obesity management to a larger scale and provides virtual options in collaboration with patients' regular medical specialists.
