Amazon One Medical Launches Visits for Perimenopause and Menopause Care

One Medical, Amazon’s national in-person and virtual primary care practice, has launched specialized perimenopause and menopause visits, expanding dedicated and holistic menopause care into the primary care setting with specially trained providers across all regions where it operates. The program builds on One Medical’s personalized approach, designed to give patients compassionate support on their own terms and schedule, while differentiating itself from traditional point solutions.

Each year, about 2 million women in the U.S. enter perimenopause and another 1.3 million enter menopause, yet menopause-specific training is not standard in primary care. As a result, many providers are unprepared and patients often go without adequate support during this major life stage. One Medical seeks to close this gap by integrating menopause care into ongoing primary care relationships, ensuring that patients are supported by a team that knows their full health history and can create tailored treatment plans. According to Dr. Erin Duralde, the company’s national director of women’s health and menopause program leader, providers are trained to consider how hormonal changes intersect with broader health issues such as cardiovascular risk and mental wellbeing, making care more personalized and comprehensive.

The model emphasizes accessibility, offering same or next-day appointments both in-person and virtually, along with longer, more thoughtful visits and 24/7 support between appointments through the One Medical app. In a ten-month pilot across Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, more than 1,000 patients participated, with 75% starting on treatment plans and 30% reporting greater confidence in managing the transition after just one visit.

Appointments are simple to book. Members can use the One Medical app and select the “Peri/Menopause Visit” option, while non-members can schedule through Amazon Health’s dedicated webpage. One Medical accepts most major insurance plans and works with patients to provide affordable treatments, aiming to make high-quality menopause care more widely accessible.
