Amazon Pharmacy and Eli Lilly have announced a partnership to distribute Foundayo™, a newly approved once-daily oral GLP-1 therapy indicated for adults with obesity or overweight with related health conditions. The collaboration aims to address longstanding challenges in access and affordability that have affected the GLP-1 category.
Over recent years, demand for GLP-1 medications has outpaced supply, while pricing variability at retail pharmacies has created uncertainty for patients. This initiative seeks to streamline both availability and cost transparency through Amazon’s logistics infrastructure and digital platform.
Amazon Pharmacy is implementing automatic coupon application at checkout, standardizing pricing across customer segments. Patients with insurance can access Foundayo for $25 per month, while cash-paying customers are offered a fixed price of $149 per month. This approach is designed to reduce variability and eliminate the need for manual coupon searches or unexpected out-of-pocket expenses.
“Amazon Pharmacy is reducing barriers for customers to access new weight management treatments like Foundayo,” said Tanvi Patel, Vice President and General Manager of Amazon Pharmacy. “We are giving customers faster treatment options with our Same-Day Delivery offering… and the price transparency they need to make informed decisions about their care.”
In addition to home delivery, Amazon is expanding its physical healthcare footprint by introducing pharmacist-supported dispensing kiosks within select One Medical clinics. This model enables patients to receive a prescription during a clinical visit and obtain the medication immediately on-site.
The integration of Amazon One Medical and Amazon Pharmacy creates a coordinated care pathway, where patients can undergo evaluation, receive a prescription, and access fulfillment within a single ecosystem. The company is also offering free, expedited delivery for the first order of each new medication nationwide.
This partnership reflects a broader effort to simplify medication access while leveraging digital infrastructure and clinical services to reduce friction across the patient journey.
