Aptar Digital Health has introduced iPUMP®, a groundbreaking connected allergy assistant, in partnership with Stallergenes Greer, a global healthcare firm specialising in Allergen Immunotherapy Treatment (AIT). iPUMP® is specifically designed for patients undergoing Stallergenes Greer's liquid sublingual AITs and is the outcome of a pilot phase in which an impressive 92% of patients consistently utilised iPUMP® during their treatment. This innovation addresses two critical challenges in the daily management of AIT treatments: non-adherence and premature treatment discontinuation.
iPUMP® is equipped with a connected pressure sensor that converts force into an audible signal upon reaching the prescribed treatment threshold, ensuring that medication has been taken. It also includes an integrated timer to mark the end of the daily dose and offers a visual confirmation of dosage intake. iPUMP® is linked to a mobile app with the same name, providing direct access to the doctor's prescribed protocol, helping patients to enhance adherence, optimise treatment efficacy, and track their intake history for precise medication monitoring.
During the pilot phase, iPUMP® was found to improve adherence in 74% of patients under 15 years of age, with nearly two-thirds of participants finding it a valuable aid for taking their liquid sublingual AIT.
This milestone marks a significant advancement in the ongoing collaboration between Aptar Digital Health and Stallergenes Greer, solidifying Aptar Digital Health's position as a key player in digital health innovation and emphasising its capacity to develop hardware and software solutions that benefit both patients and the medical community.
