Autism Provider Cortica Secures $80M to Expand VBC Contracts

Morgan Health, a JPMorgan Chase business unit, co-led an $80 million funding round for Cortica, a care provider for autistic and neurodivergent children, alongside Nexus NeuroTech Ventures and Autism Impact Fund. The funding will expand Cortica’s value-based contracts, improve access to timely care and outcomes, and extend its reach beyond the eight states it currently serves.

Founded in 2017, Cortica provides interdisciplinary, whole-child care through neurologists, behavior analysts, speech pathologists, and occupational therapists. Its integrated approach addresses co-occurring conditions like sleep disorders and seizures, reduces reliance on medications and emergency care, and delivers significant cost savings—34% annually per patient.

Cortica collaborates with 35 payers, balancing value-based and fee-for-service models, and serves over 24,000 patients. Morgan Health CEO Dan Mendelson highlighted Cortica’s ability to take on financial risk and its potential to address fragmented autism care systems, a significant burden for families. This marks Morgan Health’s seventh investment, part of its $250 million mission to innovate employer-sponsored healthcare.
