Cairns Health, a provider of digital health solutions for seniors and individuals with chronic conditions, announced the strategic acquisition of Together by Renee, an award-winning AI-powered healthcare app from SixD Inc., for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition strengthens Cairns’ mission to simplify complex healthcare tasks through technology that empowers patients and caregivers.
Together by Renee uses advanced AI and computer vision to make routine health tasks easier, allowing users to manage all their medications, including reminders and refills, simply by taking a photo of their pill bottle. This technology will be integrated into Luna, Cairns Health’s patented intelligent ambient sensing and voice-based companion platform for seniors. “Its ability to help users manage medications by scanning a label is game-changing,” said Andrew Ritter, CEO of Cairns Health. “By bringing that technology into Luna and adding voice capabilities, we can now talk to users, help them stay on plan, and turn a complex healthcare situation into a simple conversation.”
Founded in 2021 by veteran health-tech entrepreneurs Nick Desai and Dr. Renee Dua—the husband-and-wife team behind Heal—Together by Renee became one of the earliest examples of agentic AI in healthcare, growing organically to more than 50,000 users and earning over 1,500 five-star ratings on the Apple App Store.
Cairns Health plans to fully integrate Together by Renee’s features into Luna over the next six months, enabling users to receive voice-driven care, medication reminders, symptom checks, and physiological monitoring. The integration aims to improve outcomes and reduce burdens for patients, caregivers, and clinical teams. It will also extend Cairns’ support for users in senior care communities and help caregivers manage loved ones remotely.
“This deal allows us to take Luna beyond the bedroom, supporting patients wherever they go, 24/7,” added Ritter. “The entire care team—loved ones, caregivers, and providers—will now operate on the same platform in a unified care model that simplifies communication and care delivery.”
