Calm Health, a clinical mental health platform powered by meditation app Calm, is partnering with LifeStance Health to better connect users with higher-acuity mental health needs to specialized care. Through this collaboration, Calm Health users identified as needing more intensive support will be guided directly to LifeStance providers via the Calm Health app.
LifeStance Health offers a wide range of behavioral health services, including psychiatry for adults and children, therapy, psychiatric medication management, neuropsychological and psychological testing, and other specialty treatments. Calm Health, which works with employers and health plans, provides support for mental and physical conditions and uses mental health screenings to identify and assess anxiety and depression symptoms. Based on screening results, users receive personalized care plans that may include mindfulness programs, digital clinical support, or now, a referral to LifeStance for more direct clinical care.
Chris Carey, senior vice president and general manager of Calm Health, said the partnership aims to make it easier for people to find quality care without getting lost in an increasingly complex mental health landscape. “At Calm, our mission is to support people at every step of their mental health journey, including helping them find trusted resources faster, removing barriers to care and ultimately driving positive health outcomes. Adding LifeStance as a trusted mental health care resource helps us deliver on this mission by connecting members to high-quality care more quickly and confidently,” Carey said.
Calm Health launched in 2022 and has expanded rapidly, going international in June with availability now in 10 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian and Mandarin. The company says its global reach enables multinational employers to provide more comprehensive mental health benefits. Earlier this year, Calm Health also partnered with Magellan Health, integrating its digital platform with Magellan’s behavioral health and employee assistance programs.
