CancerIQ has expanded its native Epic integrations to automate more of the cancer screening, risk assessment and survivorship journey directly within electronic health record workflows. The upgraded architecture includes a consolidated provider application inside Epic alongside a redesigned patient-facing Risk Hub, aiming to reduce duplicate data entry and make personalized cancer prevention and monitoring easier to manage.
Built on the HL7 FHIR R4 interoperability standard, CancerIQ's integration can automatically pull relevant information from a patient's Epic chart, including family cancer history, previous diagnoses, breast biopsies, breast density, medications, laboratory findings and genomic results. This information can prepopulate risk assessments before clinicians begin reviewing a patient's case, reducing the need to manually collect information already available in the EHR.
CancerIQ also embeds clinical guidelines directly into Epic to identify patients who may qualify for hereditary cancer screening, germline and somatic genetic testing, biomarker testing, minimal residual disease monitoring and emerging multi-cancer early detection blood tests. Clinicians can review risk information, order appropriate tests and develop personalized screening and surveillance plans without switching to separate applications.
The company has also redesigned Risk Hub, its patient-facing platform, to integrate with health system portals such as Epic MyChart. Patients can authorize access to existing health information and review or update prepopulated records rather than completing extensive questionnaires from scratch. The platform also provides personalized education about cancer risk, recommended testing and ongoing surveillance or survivorship plans.
CancerIQ says its technology is currently deployed across more than 60 health systems and 275 clinic locations. By combining EHR data, clinical guidelines and patient engagement within connected workflows, the company aims to help healthcare organizations identify high-risk patients earlier and automate more of the cancer care journey from screening through long-term monitoring.
