CareCloud, Google Cloud partner to bring generative AI to ambulatory practices

Google Cloud and CareCloud have joined forces in a strategic partnership to bring the capabilities of generative AI to small and medium-sized healthcare providers.

Through the utilisation of Google Cloud's generative AI, CareCloud aims to enhance the operational efficiency of ambulatory practices in office settings, providing physicians with better insights for treatment decisions and improving cost transparency between healthcare providers and patients.

The integration of Generative AI support on Vertex AI and Enterprise Search on Generative AI App Builder will enable CareCloud to offer doctors and clinicians timely access to the data they need. This will empower smaller clinics and doctor's offices, often facing resource constraints, to leverage cutting-edge technology similar to large hospital systems. The first CareCloud solution incorporating generative AI is expected to be available in the coming months, expanding healthcare services and making advanced technology more accessible to a broader range of clinics.

With this integration, physicians using CareCloud solutions will be able to ask complex questions, gain valuable insights, and receive evidence-based recommendations by analysing large amounts of patient data while ensuring compliance with privacy laws. For instance, when a patient visits a clinic using CareCloud, the generative AI-based solution will provide relevant information and assist clinicians in recommending a personalised plan of care, encompassing medications, lab orders, diagnoses, and procedures based on the patient's clinical history and current symptoms. The solution will also display the expected insurance coverage for the recommended diagnoses, as well as the patient's estimated financial responsibility.

Data governance and privacy are crucial in healthcare settings, and Google Cloud ensures that its customers maintain control over their data. Patient data access and usage are appropriately protected through Google Cloud's reliable infrastructure and secure data storage, which support HIPAA compliance, along with each customer's security, privacy controls, and processes. Additionally, Google Cloud adopts a responsible approach to generative AI, providing tools for customers to directly fine-tune large language models and review model responses for biassed or unvalidated content, thus teaching the model to avoid inappropriate outputs.
