Cigna taps Virgin Pulse to launch new personalised digital health platform

Cigna and Virgin Pulse are collaborating to introduce a personalised digital health program for Cigna members. Accessible via the myCigna portal, this platform enables users to define their health objectives and monitor daily progress. The system then provides real-time feedback and guidance based on the user's input.

This tool will be accessible to nearly 11 million members and is set to launch on January 1 for those enrolled in Cigna's employer plans, with plans for further expansion. Users can input data from smart devices like Apple Watch or manually log exercise, weight, sleep patterns, and more. Sharing data within the platform encourages mutual motivation among family, friends, and colleagues to attain health goals.

Utilising submitted data, personal preferences, and claims history, the myCigna portal can connect members to other relevant programs included in their benefits package, including behavioural healthcare and prediabetes management.

Heather Dlugolenski, senior vice president of commercial strategy and solutions at Cigna Healthcare commented "Digital health programs improve health outcomes and enhance vitality for individuals and their communities." "For employers, investing in employee well-being directly translates into a more productive workforce and a thriving business. That's what we're offering through this enhanced digital platform in partnership with Virgin Pulse."

"We're excited to partner with Cigna Healthcare to improve whole person well-being by simplifying the experience through our best-in-class digital solution." "Together, we're committed to delivering innovative, data-driven digital health solutions designed to advance health in an engaging, personal and intuitive way," said Chris Michalak, CEO of Virgin Pulse.
