Cisco’s Outshift & Infinitus Align on Standards for Interop Agents in Healthcare

Infinitus Systems, a leading agentic AI communications partner in healthcare powering over 100 million minutes of clinical and administrative conversations, has partnered with Outshift by Cisco to streamline healthcare operations through secure, discoverable, and distributed AI agents. Clinicians and staff often face a growing burden of administrative tasks - from patient communication and follow-ups to prior authorizations and insurance verifications - and Infinitus aims to reduce that load by automating and accelerating these workflows.

Its AI agents handle routine but critical communications such as phone calls, faxes, and voicemails, turning processes that once took up to 48 hours into tasks completed within minutes or hours. By joining forces with Outshift by Cisco, Infinitus plans to scale its reach across large healthcare organizations, orchestrating multiple AI agents to better serve clinicians, patients, and administrative teams.

Papi Menon, Chief Product Officer and VP of Product Management for Outshift, said the collaboration will help build infrastructure that enhances the consumer experience, cuts administrative costs, and streamlines complex workflows that slow down care delivery.

Interoperability and trust are central to Infinitus’ approach. Its AI agents use open standards such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-to-Agent (A2A) for secure integration within orchestration environments. As part of the collaboration, Infinitus contributed to AGNTCY, an open-source framework under the Linux Foundation that promotes interoperability and shared standards for the “Internet of Agents.” Its MCP implementation is published in the Agent Directory, enabling Infinitus’ healthcare agents to interact securely with other AI systems.

This partnership follows Infinitus’ expanded collaborations with Salesforce to automate payor-facing workflows in Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud, and with IBM to introduce agentic AI in specialty pharmacy. Recognized as one of Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025, Infinitus continues to lead the transformation toward intelligent, connected, and efficient healthcare.
