Cognizant and Microsoft: Advancing healthcare with Generative AI

Cognizant and Microsoft have embarked on a groundbreaking collaboration to integrate generative AI into healthcare administration, with the aim of enhancing productivity and efficiency for healthcare payers and providers. The partnership leverages Cognizant's TriZetto software platform, powered by Microsoft Azure, to create the TriZetto Assistant on Facets. This innovative solution utilises Azure OpenAI Service and Semantic Kernel to provide access to generative AI within the TriZetto user interface. The focus is on automating processes, reducing manual steps in workflows, and improving overall cost containment at scale.

The TriZetto Assistant on Facets complements human users by sourcing enterprise data, summarising and enriching content, and taking actions on behalf of users. The application of generative AI aims to simplify instructions and micro-automations, improving accuracy and reducing processing time. The collaboration addresses the acute challenges faced by healthcare providers and insurance companies, delivering better patient and member experiences. With a strong focus on outcomes-based innovation, the partnership aims to create productivity tools, interoperability functionalities, and efficiencies of scale that support healthcare organisations in connecting across broader health and life sciences ecosystems.

Cognizant will showcase the TriZetto Assistant on Facets, leveraging Azure OpenAI service, at the 2024 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference and Exhibition. The demonstration underscores the commitment to advancing healthcare technology and fostering innovative solutions to address industry challenges. The collaboration between Cognizant and Microsoft represents a significant step towards utilising generative AI for transformative impact in healthcare administration.
