Elation Health and Surescripts enhance prescription cost transparency in primary care

Elation Health, a primary care-focused technology company, has successfully integrated the Surescripts Real-Time Prescription Benefit tool into its electronic health record (EHR) system. This integration, launched in 2023, enables healthcare providers using Elation's modern, cloud-based EHR to access real-time patient-specific medication coverage and cost data at the point of care. The Surescripts tool includes On-Demand Formulary data, offering seamless access to medication coverage benefits, cost information, prior authorization requirements, lower-cost alternatives, and out-of-pocket cost estimates for patients. The collaboration aims to enhance the patient experience by providing clinicians with visibility into lower-cost medication alternatives that are more likely to be filled, ultimately improving patient engagement and clinical outcomes.
