Eli Health secures $3.6M to improve women's health with continuous hormone-monitoring technology

Women’s health company Eli Health has raised $3.6M from a seed round funding, with a diverse group of healthcare and technology investors. The company has raised $6.6M in funding to date, representing the largest amount ever raised by a women's health company led by a female CEO in Canada and the second-largest overall in the women's health category in the country.

Eli Health is a women’s health company, focused on improving health using saliva-based continuous hormone monitoring. The company's initial launch will focus on menopause, fertility, and general health needs, with plans to expand into other areas such as contraception and endocrine conditions. So far, the company has established research partnerships with several academic institutions, to confirm the validity of at-home saliva testing for hormone monitoring. The company aims to leverage these partnerships to ensure greater access to their product and will further team up with companies with an already established user base.

Furthermore, Eli Health plans to use hormone data collected to create a large-scale longitudinal data set on daily hormone levels. This would provide information for medical and research communities to better address unmet needs. The data set may also facilitate increased inclusion of women in clinical trials, as the complexity of controlling for hormone fluctuations in women is often cited as the reason for the lack of female representation.
