The funds will support the expansion of its Sober Sidekick app, a free peer-led platform aiding individuals in maintaining sobriety through community support and professional guidance.
Founded in 2019, the Arkansas-based company aims to scale its operations and integrate further into the healthcare space. Founder Chris Thompson emphasized the app’s role in helping people find support during critical moments of addiction recovery.
Sober Sidekick joins other digital health platforms, such as Pelago and Bicycle Health, in addressing substance use through technology. With 28.9 million Americans affected by alcohol use disorder, according to NIH, digital solutions are playing a growing role in addiction treatment.
