Forta scores $55M to scale parent-led autism therapy platform

As of 2020, approximately one in 36 children have been identified with autism spectrum disorder, according to the CDC. The digital health landscape for autism care includes other companies such as SpectrumAi, which analyses quality and outcomes data on ABA therapy, and Sprout, a tech-enabled autism care provider offering in-home assessments and applied behaviour-analysis therapy. Virtual reality behavioural-therapy platform Floreo is also active in this space, teaching individuals with autism, ADHD, anxiety, and other conditions independent-living skills and social-emotional regulation.

Forta's successful funding round underscores the growing importance of AI-driven solutions in addressing the needs of individuals with autism and the broader landscape of digital health interventions for various conditions.

Forta's strategic approach involves not only expanding its current autism therapy practice but also exploring opportunities to apply its empowered home caregiver model to memory care and other chronic conditions. By leveraging AI-based tools and education, the company aims to enable earlier and more effective interventions, particularly in regions facing care shortages.

The funding round signals a strong commitment from investors to support Forta's mission of improving access to personalised and timely therapy for individuals with autism and potentially extending their innovative caregiving model to benefit those with other chronic conditions.
