GE HealthCare Expands Public Access to HelloAI Healthcare AI Training Program

GE HealthCare has expanded public access to its healthcare-focused artificial intelligence education initiative, HelloAI, by making more than 20 hours of AI training available at no cost. The company announced that the HelloAI Professional learning pathway is now freely accessible alongside the existing HelloAI Foundations course.

The move comes as AI adoption continues to increase across healthcare organizations. According to the American Medical Association, physician use of AI has more than doubled since 2023, reaching 81%, while training and AI literacy efforts have struggled to keep pace with implementation.

The HelloAI Professional track includes more than 20 hours of digital, on-demand educational content, as well as access to webinars featuring healthcare and AI experts. The curriculum is designed to help healthcare professionals understand how AI technologies can be responsibly integrated into clinical and operational workflows.

GE HealthCare stated that the program is intended to improve AI fluency rather than technical specialization. The content focuses on practical understanding of how AI systems function, where risks and biases may emerge, and how appropriate human oversight can be maintained in healthcare environments.

“Expanding access to HelloAI is about empowering more people across healthcare to participate in the AI journey,” said Jan Beger, Global Head of AI Advocacy for GE HealthCare. “When clinicians, researchers, and leaders can build AI knowledge at their own pace, it accelerates adoption and helps translate technology into real-world impact.”

Originally launched in 2018 through the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, HelloAI is now led by GE HealthCare in collaboration with academic institutions including the Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm (KTH). The program is designed for professionals across clinical, engineering, research, administrative, and leadership functions.

The publicly available learning offerings currently include two pathways:

  • HelloAI Foundations: A one-hour introductory course covering AI fundamentals, machine learning, generative AI concepts, and ethical considerations. The course requires no technical background.

  • HelloAI Professional: A more advanced pathway with over 20 hours of learning focused on practical healthcare AI applications, operational integration, industry case studies, and responsible implementation frameworks.

The Professional pathway also includes optional recordings from expert-led events and interactive journal clubs intended to support peer discussion and ongoing learning.

GE HealthCare said the initiative reflects its broader commitment to responsible AI adoption and workforce readiness as healthcare systems continue integrating AI technologies into care delivery and operational processes.
