GoodRx has introduced GoodRx Companion, a new subscription-based healthcare membership designed to help consumers manage rising out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. Priced at $14.99 per month, the program combines prescription savings, virtual care access, and discounts on routine healthcare services into a single offering aimed at patients navigating increasingly complex insurance coverage and healthcare costs.
The launch marks an expansion of GoodRx’s broader subscription strategy as the company seeks to diversify beyond prescription discount transactions into recurring consumer healthcare memberships. The new service builds on GoodRx’s existing offerings in weight loss, erectile dysfunction, and hair loss management.
Companion provides members with access to more than 200 generic medications at no cost, while hundreds of additional generics are available for less than $10 at participating pharmacies nationwide. The subscription also includes access to $19 telehealth visits through GoodRx Care for routine medical needs including urinary tract infections, dermatology concerns, influenza, and other common conditions.
Beyond medications and virtual care, the membership extends into additional healthcare categories including dental, vision, laboratory, and imaging services. Members can receive discounts on dental cleanings, X-rays, crowns, eye exams, contact lenses, laser eye surgery, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, wellness laboratory testing, and hormone panels.
GoodRx said the program is intended to support consumers who face healthcare affordability challenges despite having insurance coverage, particularly individuals managing chronic conditions or taking multiple medications.
“GoodRx Companion is an important step in our evolution toward building a broader subscription model built for the way consumers are navigating healthcare today,” said Wendy Barnes, President and CEO of GoodRx.
“As coverage becomes more complex and out-of-pocket costs continue to rise, people are looking for trusted solutions that give them greater control and clearer value. Companion meets that demand while advancing our strategy to build deeper, more recurring consumer relationships across a growing portfolio of subscription offerings. This is where we believe the market is headed, and where we believe GoodRx is uniquely positioned to lead.”
The company stated that the subscription model also supports its longer-term business strategy by creating a more continuous engagement channel with consumers while strengthening pharmacy economics through recurring membership participation.
