IatricSystems, Inc., a healthcare technology firm dedicated to enhancing patient safety, system connectivity, and optimising electronic health record (EHR) utilisation in healthcare organisations, has joined forces with Peterson Health, a nonprofit, independent healthcare entity. This collaboration aims to prevent drug diversion and enhance the management of controlled substances.
In partnership with iatricSystems, Peterson Health has integrated DetectRx, a cutting-edge drug diversion solution tailored to the unique requirements of controlled substance management. The adoption of DetectRx has streamlined Peterson Health's review process, enabling a comprehensive assessment of all transactions, including potential outliers, in contrast to the previous practice of sporadic spot checks, as described by Annie Raymond, Director of Pharmacy at Peterson Health.
The implementation of DetectRx has led to significant improvements at Peterson Health. Notably, it has prioritised patient safety by enhancing charting accuracy and medical record precision, promptly identifying two suspicious activities that might have gone unnoticed in a traditional audit. It has also revealed areas for process enhancement that were previously unknown.
