Interra Health has added support for the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program, helping clinicians identify eligible patients and access discounted weight-loss medications directly within prescribing workflows. The federal program, launched in July, allows qualifying Medicare Part D beneficiaries to obtain eligible GLP-1 medications for $50 per month and is being piloted through the end of 2027.
Interra Health, formed through the combination of DoseSpot, Arrive Health and pVerify, provides prescribing technology that connects medication ordering with real-time insurance coverage, pricing and benefits information. Its platform is designed to give clinicians visibility into medication affordability while helping patients understand coverage requirements and potential out-of-pocket costs.
Under the new integration, when a clinician prescribes an eligible GLP-1 medication to a Medicare patient, Interra automatically alerts the provider if the patient may qualify for the Bridge program. The notification provides guidance on the required ICD-10 coding and prior authorization steps needed to access the discounted price, allowing clinicians to complete the process without searching for eligibility requirements outside their normal workflow.
The company says the functionality is particularly important because eligibility depends on specific medications, formulations and clinical criteria. By surfacing this information at the point of prescribing, Interra aims to reduce administrative complexity and prevent patients from encountering unexpected coverage or affordability barriers after receiving a prescription.
Since joining the program on July 1, Interra Health has delivered more than 170,000 prescribing alerts to over 30,000 unique clinicians. The initiative reflects a broader effort to connect prescribing, insurance coverage, pricing and prior authorization information so clinicians can make more informed medication decisions while giving patients a clearer path from prescription to treatment.
