LifeMD partners with pharma company for direct-to-consumer hormone therapy

Telemedicine company LifeMD is partnering with ASCEND Therapeutics to improve access to EstroGel, an FDA-approved hormone therapy for postmenopausal women.

EstroGel is used to alleviate symptoms related to a drop in estrogen levels, such as hot flashes, vaginal itching, dryness, night sweats, and painful intercourse. Through this collaboration, patients can access LifeMD's telehealth platform through EstroGel's website, consult with a licensed U.S. provider, and obtain a prescription, with the medication delivered to their homes.

This initiative aims to remove barriers to care, enhance health outcomes, and provide on-demand access to primary care providers. LifeMD recently reported revenue growth, positive free cash flow, and increased adjusted EBITDA in its second-quarter earnings for 2023.

Additionally, the company launched a GLP-1 weight management program in June, offering a mobile app, personalised treatment plans, clinical support, and access to medications like Ozempic and Wegovy as deemed appropriate by a provider.
