Luffu Launches Link Wearable for Family Health and Caregiving

Fitbit co-founders James Park and Eric Friedman have unveiled Luffu Link, a screenless LTE-connected wearable designed to support family health management, caregiving and aging in place. The device expands Luffu’s emerging family care ecosystem, following the introduction of its smartphone app in February 2026.

Luffu Link is designed as a lightweight, jewelry-inspired wearable rather than a conventional smartwatch. Available in Halo Gold, Onyx Black and Sterling Blue, it has no touchscreen and instead uses a single physical button alongside background health monitoring. Battery life is expected to reach up to five days.

The wearable continuously measures heart rate, heart rate variability, breathing rate, sleep stages, activity and daily movement patterns. Luffu intends to use these measurements to identify changes from an individual’s health baseline and make relevant information available through a shared family care plan.

Users can also press and hold the device’s button to record updates about medications, symptoms, meals or mood. Luffu’s AI transcribes these voice entries and adds them to the family’s shared health hub, reducing the need for manual data entry.

Built-in LTE and GPS allow Luffu Link to operate without a nearby smartphone or separate mobile carrier contract. Wearers can use the device for voice check-ins and emergency distress alerts while away from their phones. Audio recording is activated only when the physical button is pressed, reflecting what Luffu describes as a “guardian, not surveillance” approach.

The product addresses a caregiving population that Luffu says includes 63 million Americans, or nearly one in four U.S. adults. These caregivers, with an average age of 49, spend approximately 27 hours each week coordinating care for family members including aging parents, children and partners.

Luffu Link is the first hardware component of a broader platform that includes the Luffu smartphone app, currently in public beta, and a dedicated in-home display planned for later in 2026.

Preorders have opened at $249.99, compared with a planned retail price of $299.99, with U.S. shipments expected in early 2027. A family subscription covering up to four members costs $19.99 per month or $199.99 annually.
