Medable Launches Agentic AI Platform For Clinical Development

Medable, developer of a leading clinical trial platform, announced the launch of Agent Studio, an artificial intelligence platform designed to help life sciences organizations adopt agentic AI. Described by the company as a no-code agent builder, Agent Studio enables clinical teams to quickly configure custom AI agents. Alongside its debut, Medable introduced CRA Agent, the first pre-built agent running on Agent Studio and tailored for clinical trial monitoring. CRA Agent aggregates and condenses data across systems, supports human-in-the-loop oversight in critical areas, and automates routine monitoring and communication tasks.

According to Medable, Agent Studio empowers teams to create purpose-fit agents that address key clinical development bottlenecks, streamlining workflows across protocol design, trial planning, and optimization. As an extension of Medable’s platform for electronic clinical outcome assessment, decentralized trial execution, and AI-driven study design, Agent Studio offers features such as human-in-the-loop oversight for transparency and control, adherence to life sciences standards through integration of standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements, benchmarking against trusted sources, and seamless interoperability with enterprise systems including Salesforce, Microsoft, and Gmail. CEO and cofounder Dr. Michelle Longmire described Agent Studio as “a catalyst to unleash greater human potential in life sciences,” emphasizing that it frees teams from legacy bottlenecks, accelerates trials, reduces costs, and helps bring medicines to patients faster.

The launch builds on Medable’s broader strategy to strengthen decentralized clinical research. In 2022, the company partnered with Withings Health Solutions to incorporate connected devices such as scales, blood pressure monitors, and sleep-tracking mats for remote data collection within its platform. That same year, CVS Health teamed up with Medable to expand clinical trial engagement across CVS MinuteClinics, leveraging Medable’s decentralized trial technology and CVS’s nationwide presence to improve diversity in research and support precision recruitment, trial delivery, and real-world evidence generation.
