Mika Health, an oncology-focused digital therapeutics company, and the nonprofit Cancer Support Community (CSC) have partnered to offer a free AI-enabled digital therapeutic for U.S. cancer patients and their caregivers. Mika Health's app provides psychological support to reduce anxiety, depression, and stress related to cancer, as well as features for tracking medication side effects, reminders, educational resources, nutrition advice, and appointment coordination. This personalized digital therapeutic, already certified and available in the EU, will soon be accessible to North American patients.
Sally Werner, CEO of Cancer Support Community, emphasized the significant need for mental health support among cancer patients, which many struggle to access. Previous app-based interventions showed positive results in reducing anxiety and depression, making CSC excited about partnering with Mika Health to extend these benefits to a wider audience. The collaboration aligns with both organizations' commitment to improving cancer care and support.
Additionally, the partnership aims to expand access to Mika's app through CSC's healthcare partnerships and nearly 200 network locations. They will also develop multicultural and multilingual components to enhance health equity and utilize CSC's digital assessment tools to research psychosocial patient behaviors and treatments, ultimately improving outcomes for patients and caregivers.
