Monash University’s Faculty of Information Technology in Australia has partnered with Apollo Hospitals, one of India’s largest hospital networks, to collaborate on advancing digital health research and solutions in both countries. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed to facilitate the sharing of data and technology. Additionally, Monash’s Faculty of IT will conduct educational sessions for Apollo’s healthcare professionals, and its students will have the opportunity to engage in real-world projects with the hospital network.
Professor Chris Bain, Digital Health lead at Monash, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting its potential to drive innovation and research in digital health. He emphasized the opportunity to test and cross-validate Apollo Hospitals’ clinical AI work locally.
Through this collaboration, Monash will gain access to de-identified health data from over 200 million Apollo patients, enabling significant advancements in AI research for disease detection, including cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. The organizations also plan to host regular multinational Health AI events to share research, insights, and tackle common challenges.
