Musk's Neuralink raises $280 Million to develop brain implants

Neuralink, Elon Musk's brain-implant company, has secured $280 million in new funding from investors to further develop its brain technology. 


The funding round was led by Founders Fund, supported by billionaire Peter Thiel. Neuralink's high profile has sparked interest in the neurotechnology field, with other startups raising significant funds for similar ventures. 


Recently, Neuralink gained FDA approval for human clinical trials. However, the company has faced criticism from animal rights groups for its primate testing and an investigation by the US Transportation Department over shipping procedures for possibly hazardous materials.
