Northwell Health and Brightline Partner to Expand Pediatric Mental Health Services

Northwell Health, New York’s largest healthcare provider and private employer, has announced a strategic alliance with Brightline, a leading therapy and psychiatry practice specializing in pediatric, teen, and parental mental health. The partnership is designed to expand access to evidence-based, family-centered behavioral health care at a time of rising demand across the state. Patients will now have greater access to Brightline’s services both in-person at its New York clinic locations in Brooklyn and Lake Success and virtually, extending support to children and families where it is most urgently needed.

Northwell already provides a full continuum of behavioral health care—including inpatient, outpatient, urgent, emergency, and school-based programs—but growing demand has required frequent referrals to outside specialists. Through the alliance with Brightline, Northwell patients will gain streamlined access to a network of licensed clinicians, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists, with expertise in treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, OCD, and parenting stress.

“Our strategic alliance with Brightline reflects our shared commitment to meeting families where they are—in their neighborhoods, their schools, and even their homes,” said Michael Scarpelli, SVP and president of Behavioral Health Services at Northwell.

The collaboration expands Northwell’s behavioral health capacity and enhances integration of care by offering diagnostic evaluations, therapy, psychiatry, medication management, and psychological testing. Families will also have access to comprehensive in-person assessments for autism, learning disorders, executive functioning, school readiness, and giftedness. Targeted programs will address higher-acuity conditions such as anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and behavioral disorders through coordinated therapy, psychiatry, and medication support. Each child’s care will be tailored to their developmental stage, with Brightline clinicians working closely alongside pediatricians to create family-centered treatment plans.

This partnership also supports New York State’s broader effort to close gaps in pediatric behavioral health access and integrate mental and physical care. Brightline, which has built six years of experience in delivering virtual pediatric, teen, and family care, is now expanding its in-person presence. After opening its first brick-and-mortar clinic in Brooklyn in April 2025, Brightline recently launched a second location in Lake Success, further extending its reach across the region.
