Clinical research technology company nPhase has raised $30 million in Series D financing to expand its AI-native clinical data management platform and accelerate the development of agentic AI capabilities for pharmaceutical research. The investment represents the company's first equity financing round since 2017.
The funding will support nPhase's efforts to modernize clinical research workflows by integrating data management, statistical computing, and AI-driven automation into a unified technology environment.
The nPhase.ai platform consolidates clinical trial information from multiple sources, including research sites, laboratories, patients, and digital health sensors. It standardizes and validates incoming data while preparing datasets and statistical analyses required for regulatory submissions.
According to the company, its technology can reduce workflows traditionally requiring four months or longer to several weeks. Its AI agents are designed to identify data discrepancies and generate preliminary statistical programming, while maintaining human oversight of critical decisions.
Scott Climes, CEO of nPhase, outlined the company's strategic direction: "Our vision is to fundamentally transform clinical research by moving beyond managing data aggregation to intelligent execution that accelerates life-saving therapeutics to patients,"
Alongside its AI-native platform, nPhase provides REDCap Cloud EDC, an electronic data capture solution serving small and midsize pharmaceutical sponsors, academic institutions, nonprofit researchers, medical technology studies, and real-world data initiatives.
The investment comes amid increasing industry interest in applying AI to clinical development, particularly in areas involving data processing, trial optimization, and regulatory preparation.
Several companies have recently secured financing to develop related technologies. QuantHealth raised $45 million in August 2026 to expand its AI-powered clinical trial simulation platform, while Paradigm Health secured $78 million in December 2025 and acquired Flatiron Health's Clinical Research Business.
Similarly, PhaseV raised $50 million in May 2025 to advance AI-driven precision medicine and clinical development tools, bringing its total funding to $65 million.
For nPhase, the latest financing will focus on expanding agentic AI functionality while retaining established regulatory and clinical research processes. The company's approach combines automated data processing with expert oversight to support pharmaceutical sponsors managing increasingly complex clinical trials.
