Osara Health & Allstate Partner for Cancer Care Support

Osara Health, known for evidence-based behaviour change interventions in cancer care, has teamed up with Allstate Benefits to provide members with access to these programs. Their initiative aims to support individuals living with cancer, helping them return to work faster. Developed by oncologists seeking to enhance holistic cancer care, Osara's educational behaviour-change program aims to improve quality of life and health outcomes for cancer patients. David Essary, president of Allstate Benefits and Allstate Health Solutions, emphasised the significance of meaningful support during serious health events like cancer, expressing confidence in their partnership with Osara Health to empower affected individuals on their path to recovery.

In the broader context, research by the American Society of Clinical Oncology highlights that inadequate symptom management contributes to 25% of emergency department visits and expenses for cancer patients. Additionally, around 45% of cancer diagnoses occur during working years, but 40% of patients never return to work. Notably, a study last March found that participants in Osara programs were 73% more likely to return to work compared to those not offered the program. Founded in 2016 by oncologists aiming to transform the cancer care experience, Osara Health focuses on empowering cancer patients to improve outcomes through knowledge, strategies, and behavioural changes. Other notable players in the cancer care sector include Thyme Care, Jasper Health, and Navigating Cancer, each contributing to advancing care in different ways.
